A runners perspective

I hope this blog is of use/interest to walkers, runners and cyclists living in or intending to visit Scotland. Most of my entries below are described as long-distance runs - just because that's currently what I enjoy doing...

CW-LE: West Linton

A long 25 mile day, much of which was spent on the Fife Pilgrim Way, got me across Fife to the Forth Road Bridge.  Nice surprise was Martin showing up for a quick chat having followed my tracker through East edge if Dunfermline - absolutely priceless!
Left foot getting sore on final 10 miles, a long day of hard surface done maybe a bit too quick.  Met up with folks (their 59th Anniversary) and Shirley & James for meal.  Early night, and early start the next day.

Walking by 7am, headed straight South to Kirkliston on bikepath by A800, then railway path to Newbridge Roundabout, eventually got to service station for some breakfast sandwiches and costa coffee.  Noisy ugly industrial walk to get to Union Canal, much more peaceful and relaxing!
Dropped into Almond Dell Park, then climbed out into a new a huge new-build village swallowing up older houses and fields of horses.  Escaped via  Kirknewton and eventually got onto Theives Road via Hayden Fm, this would take me over Pentland Hills to West Linton.  Met up with Andy and Steve from work who'd run up from West Linton and would walk back down with me and we'd have a drink and meal.  Another great day.
